as a store sample i've started working on the felted Jackie bag from needful yarns. the pattern is great! i love it, it's so well written, and of course the bag is really gorgeous too! now that i've got the first 5 rounds done it'll make great movie theatre knitting.

check this puppy out! likey the white witch from narnia movie art direction. seriously, this is beautiful, a work of art. it would look gorgeous on michelle. i wonder if norah gaughan will do a witch inspired series of knitwear? - wizard of oz/wicked witch of the east striped stockings. - harry potter/bellatrix l'estrange shawl - sabrina the teenage wtich bubble gum angora sweater - blair witch project toque - into the woods/Bernadette Peters as the witch bustier - snow wite/wicked witch-queen hooded cape
cashmere arm cosies
i think i forgot to do this one too. thankfully this one is free. ironic, eh? this is the one i'd pay for.

have i posted this yet? oops, guess it got lost in the holiday slacking. don't really think it's worth downloading, easy enough to figure it out. i can even count the sts from the picture.

dkc
i've been fucking things up all day. can't get anything right.
i kept forgetting to put together gift kits for the DKC. i only remebered 20 minuted before Jacqui was due to fetch them. i think i did ok under pressure.
so here they are, 10 little gift bags with knitting goodies which will be added to the raffle at the Downtown Knit Collective at Jacqui's discretion (a few every month?)
jens gift
last minute gift adjustments. i checked with my mom and she said Jen is still a sparly pink girl. i checked with my aunt and she said jen is a pink & purple girl. i check with jen's mom and apparently jen crossed over into adolescent style this school year. she started junior high, i guess that is a concrete social point for kids. anyway, jen's mom says jen is currently an orange/brown/ red/blue/black kind of person. sounds like she's still a warm palette person, she just shifted into more mature colours. so i swapped the yarn for something more dignified (no confetti, no sparkles), sans girly-swirly colours. it's a self striping yarn by Austermann called Murano, pretty fun: red, green, yellow, blue (well really, we can't get too adult on the girl1). And i swapped the needles for a larger pain or River Johns. They's the swing needle that are on sale, i just glued the stitch holder to the end.

jens gift
my aunt has me to put together a hanukah gift for my 11 year old cousin jen. she wanted a knitting bag, yarn & a needle gauge.
so here's the haul:
1 large Lantern Moon tote
1 needle gauge
1 Felt needle case from One World Buttons
1 pair of yellow pony pearl needles
3 balls Neeful Kristine (it's an 11 year old triple threat: it's pink, it's got confetti and it's got tinsel!)
i had to put a pair of needle inside (giving an empty needle case would be inauspicious, bad luck, like giving a wallet without any money).
i think she will like it. i hope she will like it. the only thing i could go wrong on is the yarn.
who's the boss?
the guy on CBC says the Ansel Adams show at the AGO is amazing. a friend from NYC came back from visiting her parents and lamented that there just isn't high culture like NYC. I'll have to see if this exhibit makes me feel like i'm at the MET. ah, i love the MET ......
street knit
all this amazing StreetKnit stuff came in last week from lesley and her colleagues at Citibank. kudos people and hold you needles with pride!

got this in a lionbrand spam ... i'm working late decorating the store & listeniing to the liberal convention speeches. if you'd told me 15 years ago that i'd be interested in the liberal leadership race i'd have told you that you're on crack. i'm really digging the pom-pom swags on the ceiling. they're inspired by my fave indian restaurant in NYC that is covered walls & ceiling in lights (it's on the lower east side) and an art installation i made in first year university on the ceiling of my dorm room with evian bottles suspended from the ceiling by wire coils university. now i want to make pom-pom garlands, but that will take too long to happen this year.
