Bugger! Addi Turbos for Sale
My old nickel allergy has reared it's head, which means I can't use my addi turbo needles anymore. I'm selling them at just over 30% off the retail price, all are barely/gently used. Here's what I've got, while it's around. (updated March 7, 2009)

satisfying baby blanket
here is a crappy picture of a baby blanket i finished last sunday. it is really hard to take a good picture of a baby blanket! who'd a thunk? the pattern is simple and i published it for free for you to help banish the winter blahs. it is a very satisfying knit! i have kits at the store if you want it as is.
here is a link to the pattern

dum-dee-dum
dum-dee-dum (singing to myself), making some quick things to encourage spring. this is a Twinkle pattern (ravelry link) called 'Sirene du Lac' (ooh-la-la!), we used 4 skeins of Brown Sheep Burly Spun (not even). the yarn is not as thick as what they called for so we were able to get away with making a small size because of the extra ease (which is fine for spring, it doesn't have to be a dense knit).

moving
i just moved house about a week and a half ago and you know how it is, you have too much of what you don't need and not what you do. lucky for me i make things. i needed a rug for my front door, for mushy winter boots. i scavenged in the basement and found some Briggs & Little Super from years ago. The colours were pretty random and that's what I had to work with, which is always more fun than picking and choosing. Anyway, the super is super-duper for rugs and the whole thing is just single crochet and a random choice of stripes carefully eyeballed.
after i finished mine i was still jonesing to crochet and i still had lots of yarn left over in colours that didn't work for my place and i made a rug for Eden , my neighbour at Scratch Espresso (who got a great writeup on BlogTO this week!). And no, if you go to their web page you may think that they lifted my colours, but it's just a case of great minds think alike.

OMIGOD Freebies
This is an "Omigod, my good friend Rosa is pregnant and I want to make her little knitterly things for the baby!" Freebies posting.
the parameters are that it is a boy and Rosa is a stylin' dweller of NYC
Baby Yoda Sweater - it can be a boy swearter in a dark boy colour and skip the side tie
Vintage Car Coat from Sublime - definitely boy friendly
Lil' Devil Baby Hat - very cute, but aren't you supposed to keep babies away from dangly bits?I mean, if you can't have venetian blinds then
Seed Stitch Jacket - now i know boys wear jackets!
Baby Chullo - could be a good thing for a squirmy baby over the winter.
Skater Hat - Could be cute, as long as Rosa's husband Steve doesn't hate skaters.
Baby Leggings - all the moms I know have sworn by baby leggings, but all the moms I know have girls. Maybe if I can find a camo coloured yarn ....

- Jolly Roger Baby Hat - boys can wear dead things for sure. Rosa's husband Steve loves dead things, I think he's dig this hat. But isn't the skully thing a bit stale?
- Baby Watch Cap - for metrosexual infants.
- Snuggle Sack - sounds like a good idea, very useful.
- Pointy Pixie Hat - hmmm, maybe, I do have an affinity for all things elfin.
