pretty pretty isn't going away. this was done in Kertzer truffles, which is going going fast around here since it's cashmere for only $7 a ball! i'll have to make somethig with 3/4 sleeves if i get a moment....

central park swatch
and here is a close-up of the ribbed yarn. it isn't super-high-end, but it's cool stuff and won't ball up.
central park
so here is my Lily Chin Coccoon coat in progress. i'd say it's about 2/3rds done, but i'm hyped for the end. just another 20 inches to go!
Poncho Project
speaking of online art exhibitions, welcome to the PONCHO PROJECT.
Local artist, actor, activist and humanitarian Roscoe has been making ponchos for all the local kids. She uses scraps of stash and creates marvelous textiles!
i've asked her to track down those ponchos so we can document them.

tracy's ball nov 9 2005
Tracy has started collecting bits of yarn and winding them into a ball. She's going to crochet the bits up into an afghan and donate it to a women's shelter.
I've decided to document the process since the ball is being housed in my store, Knit-O-Matic. It's almost like an art installation.

on the books
think i'll be making this one next with 3/4 sleeves. the mohair doesn't itch and it doesn't shed! Lily Chin Tribeca. It should also go reasonably fast on 6mm needles. don't think i'll do pink .... which colour then? so many decisions to make!
the Lily Chin trunk show was really great. her designs look better on real people than they do on the models. and i got to feel the texture, they wash up soft. me likey, me likey, me likey!
