feather 'n fan skirt

finished garment, ahoy! my feather & fan skirt from the spring 2005 interweave knits. it was REALLY easy. really! i think i may be a skirt knitter ... it's like making a sweater except you don't have to make the arms, so it's done right when you start getting bored.

i added 2 inches to both the upper & lower section so it would fall past my knees, made in size large. 9 balls of scheepjes Isis (mercerized cotton), so about 850m total.

yay! i'm going to look like a fern! :-)

this is the kind of lace i like. lace that makes a garment lighter. think i'll give this a shot in the italian cotton (cable due) i've got kicking around the store. shorten it.

mistakes of olympic proportions

ooof! so i've been making that stitch diva hairpin lace skirt, right? i never read instructions through, always jumping 5 steps ahead ... a very dangerous shortcoming. so it looks like i've been counting the loops wrong. i'm supposed to count them on both sides, not just one side. my bad. my very bad. i've probably got about twice as many loops as i need, and lots of counting to do. i'll take it home 'cause that's where the instructions are. ;-) i am feeling soooooo frayed these days! sorry if i'm cranky, it isn't because of the skirt.

Make-up bag # 2

this one really got out of control, but it was what it was. more pictures of the other sides of flickr. so it's basically about two thirds too big. i'm happy with the manos though, it shark uniformly and didn't fade all that much. i washed it in a pillow case and used very gentle eco-friendly detergent.

BTW, the colour work is NOT short-rows! it's intarsia! whay doens't anyone believe that i can do intarsia?
