recently finished ... steve's hat! i felt guilty about having done ursula's hat ut not steve's, 'specially since he commissioned it in august. Pattern: London Beanie Yarn: Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk Aran in Sea Green (05) and Mustard Yellow (08) Luxury Nazca (Alpaca & Silk) in Orange (666 - apparently marled orange is the colour of the beast ... who knew?) 2 strands held together. Assignment: make an orange hat that does not overwhelm or clash with skin tone. Results: happy. very soft, light hat, easy knitting. steve likes it. i recommend more hasts in alpaca silk blends (too bad the DB colours aren't more sophisticated. Love the contrast of the marled yarn and the plain yarn - gives it a reconstructed-retro aesthetic, a little bit of salvage bricolage.
