Provence Summer String Bag!

I finished up my Provence Summer String Bag last weekend and it looks great! But even more important, I've been receiving tons of compliments on it.  ;-)  The Sublime Organic Cotton DK crocheted up nicely and the pattern was easy, fun and free. I added some handles and lined it, because I can't leave well enough alone. It really is constructed as a shopping bag, if you also want to make a purse out of it I suggest skipping the rectangular base.

The handles are vintage (salvaged from an old bag from the Goodwill), so unfortunately I do not have any of those particular ones to sell. :-(

This is a better representation of the cololur (143), it is a dusky green.

Easy Lace Shrug

I already Blogged this on the store's 'official' news blog, so if you are part of our Facebook page you've likely already seen it - but only about half an hour ago.

We finally got around to making the little Lace Shrug from Dream in Color and it turned out great! So cute, and Liane says the lace was very easy.

I don't know why, but I always love the idea of a shrug, probably because:

  1.  They are so quick and satisfying.
  2.  I always need a little something to keep me warm.
  3.  Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.
  4.  Large upper-arms run in both sides of my family - no escape.

Sockless Sock Monkey

Last weekend I started working on a Sockless Sock Monkey!  I'm using Malabrigo merino Worsted and it is great!  The squishy texture is perfect. I mostly making up the pattern because I don't have it in me to sew a bunch of bits together and hope it looks ok.

Above, you can see the entire lower body.

This is the bum. I know what you are thinking, the red and all .... I don't want to say it because you know how it is with the internet - once you put it out there you can't take it back. But I can assure you that in person the monkey bum is not at all disturbing. Additionally, I expect that once Mr. Monkey is finished he will spend lots of time sitting on it. :-)
